Mayor talks to children about democracy and respect
The Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor Bill Quinton visited St Helen's as part of our work this term on "British Values". The children were able to show a very good understanding of the importance of values such as democracy, freedom, respect and tolerance. They also enjoyed talking to the Mayoress and Town Sergeant and looking at the town's mace and ceremonial sword.

Choir perform at Snape Maltings Concert Hall!
Our amazing choir have impressed us again with their performance on the concert hall stage at Snape as part of "A Celebration of Schools Music 2015". They gave a spirited performance which demonstrated their skill, energy and enthusiasm for singing. Well done to you all, and many thanks to the staff and parents who supported this event.

Phase 4 Share Day
Parents and children in Years 5 and 6 enjoyed an afternoon of e-safety this week. Amongst the vast range of activities on offer, the children were able to build on their programming skills and creating flow charts to help decide which content they might use for their age group.

"Artists in Residence" at St Helen's!
Reception Library Visit
On world book day the reception classes went to Ipswich library. We saw this as an excellent opportunity to promote reading and Ipswich library. The children enjoyed a private tour, focusing on the children's book area. We even went in to the basement, and saw books that were over 100 years old. We finished the trip with a story and some songs. It was a really enjoyable afternoon. Thanks you to all the library staff who were all so welcoming. Please find the article at the link below:
