Year 4 on The Orwell Lady

Year 4 pupils had a lovely morning travelling down the river today.  They found out a little more about their theme rivers and enjoyed the calm waters and lovely views.

Bat Class Poetry Reading @ The Cult Cafe

Pupils from both Bee and Bat class have now performed their poetry at the Cult Cafe and I was lucky enough to be part of the audience today.  We really have got a talented bunch of children (and staff).  Big thank you to the Cult Cafe for hosting us and all the parents who came to listen.  Hopefully we can upload some of the readings to the website soon!

Busking at St. Peter's Street

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the children who helped at the St. Peter's Street Christmas Market singing session yesterday.  It felt very odd singing Christmas songs when the sun was so bright.  The children were fantastic as usual and we raised just under £60 in total. A special mention goes to Wiktoria and Amelia for 'Silent Night' sung in Polish.  We will start practising now for Festive Friday.

St. Helen's v Britannia Cup Game

Well done to our boys football team.
We may have lost 1:4, but you played wonderfully and showed great sportsmanship. Britannia have been the team to beat for a long time and you should be proud of today's game. Big congratulations to Liam for scoring a great goal. Onwards and upwards.

Football Success

Apologies for the delay.  Huge well done to our football team who competed in their first competition. We came joint 2nd in our group. We won 3 games and drew 2. We only lost 1 game and that was to the team who won it last year, so that isn't too bad!  Good luck to the girls team next week.

International Day of Peace 21st September

In Monday's assembly, the children discussed International Peace Day.  All of the children wanted to mark this important day in some way. The children came up with some fantastic ideas.  On the 21st, they sang a song about peace in assembly; some pupils read a poem of peace to the KS2 children; Miss Benjamin and some of the children planted bulbs in our planters to create peace gardens and our children posed for a Peace photograph.  Well done St.Helen's, hopefully one day every day will be a day of peace across our world.
