Really pleased to announce that one of our parent's will have a project of theirs discussed on tonight's One Show on BBC One- a large environmentally friendly greenhouse. Amazing when people think out of the box and look at the future and our part in helping secure it, great inspiration for our children. Well done Cliff Matthews and all that worked on the project.
We had lots of indoor and outdoor fun today, making paper aeroplanes(using one hand) and trying to jump through hoops. These Woodcraft activities really tested our teamwork skills. Year 5 and 6 children also received a talk from a Woodcraft representative and have details on how to join the organisation if they would like to.
In our class novel, the characters find sardine tins in the rainforest. We used this as inspiration for some still life art, using herring, mackerel and silver tins. We had a choice to study real or artificial fish and used different tones to create perspective, also drawing inspiration from Picasso's work.
We had an amazing time today as writers from across Asset Education Ipswich schools joined together to share ideas and write extended poems, stories and recounts. Maybe we have an award-winning writer in our midst! I think so! Mrs Merchant
Two of our Year 5 and two of our Year 6 pupils had a lovely day at Hanford Hall School's Greater Depth Maths workshops. Lots of fun was had by all. Many a pattern was found and a multitude of problems were solved. Well done!
